Today, I had my teachers class for the English department. About 5 or 6 depending on the day come to my classroom and we discuss various topics that I give them in advance. Previous classes, we have talked about heroes - national heroes and then personal heroes. This week, I told them to think of their favourite children’s story, that they were read as a young Korean, or that they read to their children. As usual to start the class in discussion I talk about my answer. This week I am showing them an audio clip of Robert Munsch’s “Mortimer” http://www.robertmunsch.com/.
Then I am going to show them a book reading on youtube I found, of Where the Wild Things Are. If there is time, I want to show them the movie trailor for the Hollywood production of the beloved book, directed by Spike Jones. Should be interesting as they do not get all Hollywood movies over here, and when they do its not till later. The movie “The Proposal” is just coming out now for instance.
I am looking forward to seeing what books they choose, what they are about, and if there are similar stories in Western children’s books.

I JUST WANTEDT TO REBLOG THIS TO MAKE SURE YOU SAW IT, AND REALIZED HOW FUNNY IT WAS. MY FAVORITE PART OF THE POST IS HER TERM “HIGHDEA”. WE SHOULD START USING THAT TERM.
P.S. ALL CAPS BECAUSE I WANT TO BE LIKE KAYNE
About a year ago I had a highdea about nachos with tater-tots instead of chips which Queen Schneider brilliantly titled, tatertachos. With very little convincing I got Jake, Cohen, Cait, Julia, and Rosie to ruin their bodies and self respect and enjoying this meal with me. The end result is that it is more delicious than disgusting.
RECIPE:
1 plates of nachos substitute that chips with tats
2 eat
3 cry once you realize what you have done with your night

This song is from Talib’s old album The Beautiful Struggle. I have always thought it was cool, and wish that they used the beat for something more than an interlude on the CD. As a side, Yeezy himself produced the song, and most of the album in fact.
